Hours: Monday-Thursday: 07.00 – 17.30 or Tuesday-Friday: 07.00 – 17.30

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Paint Line Team Leader to join a leading contract manufacturer of sheet metal components, who are based on the Devon and Cornwall border.

In the role of Paint Line Team Leader you will be responsible for carrying out regular inspections to make sure that the quality of all painted parts are to an acceptable standard.

It will be important to recognise the training needs of the team to ensure adequate spraying cover and paint plant knowledge.

We are looking for a hardworking and ambitious individual with a minimum of two years’ experience in powder coating. The applicants must be able to apply powder to a high standard consistently on many different products. Including both small intricate components and large fabricated assemblies, in a variety of paint finishes. You will also understand and follow the different cleaning and curing cycle times from the technical data sheets. In addition, you will be expected to prepare products for painting as well as checking work for defects in the finishing before curing. At times you must be able to take the necessary corrective action to overcoat products. At all times you must observe and follow documented safe working procedures (SOP’s) and all health & safety systems and instructions. Finally making sure the plant and production areas are kept clean at all times, particularly at the end of the shift, maintaining our high level of house-keeping.

The successful candidate will be working in a very fast paced environment and will need to ensure that all team members work in a safe manner and adhere to all safety directives.

What's required...

High standards of timekeeping and attendance are essential.

  • Able to apply powder to a high standard and consistently to a variety of thin gauge sheet metal components
  • Good knowledge of cleaning, stoving and curing cycle times
  • Experience of fast-paced, high quality production paint line processes
  • Able to read, understand and work to technical data sheets
  • Checking for defects
  • Able to prepare a product for painting
  • Good understanding of standard operating processes (S.O.P’s) and a good knowledge of all Health & Safety systems
  • Maintain a high level of house-keeping
  • Strong inspector with a good eye for detail, and a passion for “Right first time”
