About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fibre Laser & CNC Punch Press Operator to join our production team and support the effective running of our sheet metal blanking and forming area. The ideal candidate will have practical experience operating CNC machinery, with a good understanding of drawings, quality standards, and safe working practices. This is an important hands-on role, helping to maintain efficient workflow, produce accurate components, and ensure work is completed safely, consistently, and to the required standard.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operate fibre laser and CNC punch press machinery to produce components accurately in line with drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Check material, programmes, tooling, and job details before starting work to ensure production is completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Carry out quality checks during production to confirm parts meet the required dimensions, finish, and customer standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with team leaders and colleagues to support workflow, priorities, and smooth production activity.
  • Follow safe working practices, maintain good housekeeping, and report any issues with machinery, tooling, material, or product quality.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing, engineering, or sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, measurements, and production instructions accurately.
  • A reliable, practical, and quality-focused approach, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy production environment.

Desirable

  • Experience operating specifically Amada fibre laser or CNC punch press.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal materials, nesting, tooling, machine programmes, or quality inspection processes.
  • Previous experience working with high-volume production, precision components, or automated manufacturing equipment
