Senior Production Lead – Day Shift

About the Role

We are seeking a confident and motivated Senior Production Lead to support the effective running of our day shift production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing experience, good leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate people, priorities, and workflow in a busy environment. This is an important hands-on leadership role, helping to maintain production performance, support quality standards, resolve day-to-day issues, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

Wednesday 7:30am 4:30pm
Thursday 7:30am 4:30pm
Friday 7:30am 2:00pm
Saturday
Sunday

Total: 42.5 hrs/week

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and support day shift production teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, delivery, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate daily production priorities, allocate resources, and monitor progress against planned schedules, customer commitments, and business needs.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customer-related production queries, providing clear updates and helping ensure expectations are understood and managed.
  • Support team leaders and operators with day-to-day production issues, helping to resolve problems and escalate concerns where required
  • Maintain clear communication between customers, production, planning, quality, maintenance, and management to support smooth workflow and reliable delivery.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role, with confidence supporting teams in a busy operational environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, people, and workflow effectively.
  • A practical, reliable, and quality-focused approach, with good problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of safe working practices.

Desirable

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision engineering, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or performance management processes
  • Previous experience supporting team leaders, coordinating multiple production areas, or acting as a senior point of contact on shift
